Road Trip!

This week I had an exciting Saturday night.  We had a family gathering on Saturday afternoon, and then my uncle Mark had a fabulous idea!  ROAD TRIP.  Turns out he’s tight with the band Chameleon (classic rock), so the uncles and I decided to head on down to Rockford to see them play.   It was awesome.  I haven’t done something that totally random in a while, and I had an exceptionally good time.  Good music.  Good company.

I think that it likely that none of you appreciate the true value of an air band.  Luckily, Bruno really does.  He is incredibly enthusiastic about music, and I really love hanging out with him, it kinda makes me wanna rock out hard core.  Although, I think it’ll take more than a few years before I manage to get my skills up to par.

Aww, brothers!  Abby, we need this picture, but with us instead of the boys.  Next time, you probably should make the right choice and randomly come on down to Rockford instead of using silly excuses about how you have to like, take care of your kids and stuff.  Ah well, they’ll grow up, so it’s only a matter of time 😉

Hooray for a happy weekend!!!!

Did you know Connor and Lillian are my favorites? Well, now you do.

Today was lovely.  An abnormally lovely March has led me to a delightful event.  Sandy, sandy toes.  Don’t you like, totally wanna poke them and stuff?  Well I do.  Or, I suppose, I did.  And yes, I did poke those toes, leading to many squeals of laughter.  Unfortunately, I eventually did have to stop.  It was lame.  Apparently one can tickle another one’s toes ‘too much’.  Lame.  I’m gonna have to have a sit down chat with Connor soon about the importance of keeping his auntie happy at all times, even if it leads to his discomfort.  The boy needs some priorities I think.

A volleyball net!  I love volleyball.  It’s sweet.  Connor doesn’t know how to play yet, but he will.  We’ll starting practicing how to soon.  I’ll teach him, and he will love it, just like he loves everything that he does with me.

There was a lovely sequence of photos surrounding this shot, but alas I cannot post them all.  I’ll just let you imagine it.  I prop Lillian up against Connor.  He eyes her warily, and begrudgingly puts his arm around her, his face switching between a fake smile and annoyance.  I start to take pictures, and she sliiiiiiiiiiiiidddddeees down slowly.  The result of this saga is that I have a bunch of pictures that I thought would be totally adorable, and really this is adorable, but it looks like he’s choking her in most of them.  Oh well, live and learn I suppose.

Woaaaaah!  This was a very long slide.  And he looked like he’d touched one of those electric globe thingies that makes your hair stick up the very second that he touched this slide.  He rocks it though.

Lillian was very sleepy after all the playing.  Nap attack!  Connor didn’t wanna nap though, he just wanted to wander around in circles.  So we wandered around in circles…. for a really long time, and now I’m a lil sleepy.  I wish I got nap time.

Hi!  I’m beautiful!  Don’t you wish that you had her pretty eyes?  Yup.  Be jealous.

Alright Mr. Purple Spotted Rhinoceros, I can take you, you don’t stand a chance.  You WILL be dominated.  Jerk face, always looking at me funny.

Well, and here we are.  You all get extra pics this week because I couldn’t make up my mind about which ones were the cutest.  Feel free to cast your vote if you like, but I like them all.  Happy Sunday Funday everyone!

Oh dear, I forgot a title.

If in doubt, start with a pic of Connor.  He’s fabulous.  All the time.  He’s apparently going through some sort of “I don’t wanna be in pictures anymore since it’s totally lame” phase, but I was able to snatch a couple of cute ones.

See!  Look at this mischievous smile!  He’s so cute.  Can I keep him?

I like this one because Dan popped in there.  I know it’s because he was jealous.  He hasn’t made the blog yet, and I think that he was getting impatient.  You just never know when Dan’s gonna pop in, he’s so darned sneaky!!!

Awww, looks like Abby and Dan don’t just make cute babies, they also take cute pictures.  Success!  Although I guess that you can’t really see it so well, this is a dried flower in front of one of their wedding pictures.

I took this this afternoon at Jamestown Huegel Park.  The clouds were especially pretty today I thought.  They look kind of like….uhmmm… well, I don’t really know what they look like… not at all I don’t think.  But definitely something profound.  Think of something good and I’ll change this.  Looks like y’all have a homework assignment!!

Ooh!  It’s electric! (doodoodododoooo, it’s electric!)  This should have immediately made you think of that electric slidey pants song.  So now that you’ve read this, you are ready to rock out.  Bam.  You can thank me later.

Snow Snow Snoooooow! I still like it

I wonder why people think Christmas lights ever need to get taken down.  Personally, I would leave them up all year if it was socially acceptable.  I already leave them up for 6 months.  I mean, so much work goes into putting them up, why would you want to take them down?!  Well, at least I gave in and unplugged them by the end of January.  Deal with it neighbors.  You know I’m awesome.

This is my porch light.  There is no grand story here.  So, look at the light, stare at the light, be the light.

This is the view from my front porch.  It was about 5 pm, and just getting dusky out, but really it just made everything look super blue and pretty.  I’ve missed snow this winter.  I didn’t realize it, but it’s just been dreary out.  This, now this, this is what I like.  It just gives me warm fuzzies to look out of my window and have it look like this!  I know you all want it to be over, but I feel like it never began, so just let me enjoy.

This looks the sledding hill of doom.  Actually it was quite cheerful at Elver when I took this.  But I thought the clouds made it look kind of doomsdayish.  Morgie thinks that after I monkeyed with it it still looks happy.  However, I beg to differ.  I worked long and hard to make this look like an abysmal day for sledding, just so that I could call it my hill o’ doom.

Enjoy the snow 🙂  I love it, you should too.
